Since 1999 — a family dream in the Italian Marche
How It All Began
A longing for Italy has always accompanied our family. As children, we dreamed of olive groves, warm summer evenings and the incomparable light of the Adriatic coast. In 1999, this dream became reality: We discovered an old farmhouse in the hills near Montecarotto, in the heart of the Marche region — and fell in love instantly. The property with its classic Italian proportions, thick stone walls and sweeping views across the landscape had exactly the character we had been searching for.
What followed were six years of intensive renovation work — carried out by the entire family, all by hand with loving care. Every tile, every beam, every door was carefully chosen and installed. Today, more than 25 years later, we are gradually passing Casa Montale on to the next generation: Our grown children continue the tradition with the same passion.
A Piece of Italian History
Casa Montale is a typical Italian farmhouse — a "casale" — as they have been known in the Marche for centuries. The previous inhabitants were a large Italian family who lived and worked here for generations. When we took over the house in 1999, the ground floor still housed a stable with a cow, various utility rooms and an old wine cellar with large wooden barrels.
From these original rooms, our five holiday apartments were created, all preserving the charm of the original: The Cantina in the former wine cellar, the Stalla in the old stable, the Sotto on the ground floor, the Terrazza with its breathtaking panoramic terrace and the detached holiday house Capanna. Each apartment tells its own story — and immerses you in the authentic rural life of the Marche.
Made by Our Own Hands
At Casa Montale, we still do many things ourselves to this day. In autumn, we harvest olives from our own trees and press our own olive oil — a taste experience you won't find in any supermarket. We design and maintain the gardens and grounds with loving attention to detail. And we still enjoy taking on renovations and improvements ourselves.
This hands-on philosophy shapes the entire experience at Casa Montale. Our guests appreciate the authenticity, the personal atmosphere and the attention to detail that you can feel in every corner of the estate. There is no anonymous hotel chain here — what awaits you is real, lived Italy.

The Adriatic coast of the Marche offers the perfect beach for every taste — from lively Italian beach life to secluded coves with crystal-clear water.
Senigallia — 25 Minutes
The wide sandy beach of Senigallia with its shallow water is ideal for families with children. Here you experience typical Italian beach life at its most vibrant: beach bars, restaurants and a wonderful atmosphere. Kitesurfers also get their money's worth here. Along the coast, numerous excellent restaurants serve fresh fish straight from the Adriatic.
Marotta — 30 Minutes
Just north of Senigallia lies Marotta with its pebble beach. It's quieter here — perfect for those who want to escape the hustle and enjoy the Italian coastal atmosphere in peace. An insider tip for relaxed beach days away from the crowds.
Riviera del Conero — 45 Minutes
A bit further south, but worth every minute of the drive: The Riviera del Conero enchants with fantastic turquoise water, picturesque cliffs and impressive rock formations. Boat trips along the coast provide a genuine Caribbean feeling in the heart of Italy. An absolute must for every Marche holiday.
